April 2007
Start by team RedBackRacing

The team today set out a little nervously from the Hobart Silverdome early this morning after the car had been so successfully received at the public exhibition overnight. No one had seen the car driven in anger or even on the road for that matter. Adam and Jarrod took took the cruise up too Georgetown to assemble for the Prologue.

Day Zero as it's known is one of the longest days during the Targa event due to all of the waiting for your chance to get out and just drive. One of the pluses of the waiting is the chance for all competitors to see others go through the Prologue event. This is possibly the last chance that the team get to check out the competition, the rolling motorshow of vehicles and the spectacle that is Targa Tasmania.

The reason for the Prologue is to assess all vehicles running by way of a Street Stage that sets the start order for Day 1. This single stage is a fantastic opportunity for the general public to get up close and personal with event. Spectators flock to Georgetown to line the streets and get any vantage point possible. Some spectators travelled as far north as Queensland to view the Spider such as the President of the Queensland Renault car club.

The team ran the stage with ease and were extremely pleased they were 69th fastest out of a total field of over 250 competitors! A great result and with the cars performance the team are looking forward to really getting the Spider moving in the first full day of the event.

Tomorrow team RedBackRacing tackle 9 stages.
