January 2009
Go for Targa Wrest Point.

The team set off in high spirits this morning ready to get into the event from the start.

The field of 116 competitors were all much of the same feeling with a buzz in the air that this was just the prelude to what was a much larger event coming up with Targa Tasmania just around the corner for 2009.

Taking nothing away from this event some of the biggest names in town were all out to flex their racing prowess, and some of the lesser known competitors all set to just have some fun in their cars.

With all crews pumped for a day and half of competition the pace was hectic right from the start with a number of incidents causing large delays and resulting in 3 complete stages being removed from the day.

Redback Racing were not without their own issues. Not quite as catastropic as some of the other competitors, but mechanical issues began to hamper the teams progress at the begining of stage 3.

The MX5's clutch pedal left Adam and Jason with little other choice by to push on and complete the event as best they could until lunch being in the very last collection to arrive with saw the crew somewhat distressed.

At the lunchtime service best efforts were made to rectifity the situation by bleeding the brakes and checking all was in order but to no avail. The guys kept on racing.

After the day was complete the crew consulted some mechanical advice and the situation appeared that it could not get better with the condition of the clutch.

Team Redback Racing are still in the event and starting Day Two and hoping to enjoy the event as best they can.
